Slight Improvement for Some of the State in Weekly Drought Monitor Report

Posted on 19 April 2024 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—The weekly drought monitor report this week did show some improvement in portions of the state, but locally, no significant change was found. Boone County and several neighboring counties continue to be listed as suffering from moderate drought conditions. This does not include any of the rain that fell this week, which could impact next week’s report. The most noticeable impact was in Eastern Iowa where there was a reduction in Extreme Drought conditions. Overall in the state, about two-thirds of the state is impacted by some form of drought.
