BOONE, Iowa—The Boone City Council will be busy during their regular meeting Monday. The Council will consider action to move ahead with the Story Street resurfacing project. They will also consider adoption of the budget for the next fiscal year. But, the biggest vote is expected to be on a request from Daisy Brands to move ahead with an application to the State of Iowa for High Quality Jobs program benefits. Daisy Brands has proposed creating 255 jobs with plans to invest $708,000,000 for a facility in Boone.

The resolution includes using the High Quality Jobs provisions which includes a 20-year value added property tax exemption at 100% for three years and 74% for the balance of the term. It also spells out what the City of Boone will do for infrastructure upgrades to support the Daisy Brands project.

The Boone City Council will meet Monday evening at 6:00 p.m. at the Boone City Hall. The Council’s meeting will be live streamed on ZOOM.
