BOONE, Iowa—Boone Police were called to the scene of an unattended death Friday, April 5th. An autopsy has been conducted and Police Commander John Sloter says there were no suspicious circumstances. According to a statement from the Boone Police Department today, the investigation is still no complete:

On April 5, 2024 at 2:16 pm., Boone Police Officers were dispatched to the Super 8 Hotel located in the 1700 block of S. Story Street. This was in reference to a medical emergency. On scene, the subject was identified as a female age 52 of Boone. The subject was deceased and the Division of Criminal Investigation was requested to assist with the investigation.

The subject was transported to the Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner where an autopsy took place on April 6, 2024. The autopsy revealed that the subject’s death was accidental/health related and there were no suspicious circumstances.

The investigation is ongoing pending the final autopsy results.
