BOONE, Iowa—Michael “Mick” John Jacobson, 71, of Boone, Iowa, passed away at home on Monday, March 18, 2023.

Michael was born on December 6, 1952, in Boone, Iowa, the son of Ivan and Lorena (Powers) Jacobson.

He attended Boone High School, graduating in 1971. Michael was united in marriage to Sue Gus on June 11, 1988, at Sue’s grandmother’s home.

He was a lifelong Yankees fan and enjoyed drives by the river looking for wildlife. In earlier years, he enjoyed coaching and umpiring Little League games for Riley and playing Slow Pitch Softball.

He is preceded in Death by his parents, Ivan and Lorena Jacobson, and son, Justin Jacobson.

Michael is survived by his Wife, Sue Jacobson; son, Riley (Michele) Jacobson; daughter, Heidi (Aaron) Acela; grandchildren: Reese Jacobson, Nolan Jacobson, Maddox Jacobson, Kayla Jacobson, Jimmie French, Mallory Acela, Halle Jo Acela, and Emma Acela; sisters: Denise Morth, Donna Doran and Susie DuPont; and brother, Tim Jacobson.

Visitation with the family present to greet friends will be from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at Schroeder-Stark-Welin Funeral Home in Boone.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the family to use at their discretion.
