BCSD Holds Ribbon Cutting at New Ledges Elementary

Posted on 17 August 2023 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—The Boone School Board held a ribbon cutting ceremony at the district’s new early childhood center, the Ledges Elementary School on Hancock Drive. Students from Pre-School, Transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten and 1st Grade will be housed in the new building. School Board President Jeremy Pritchard said a lot of effort went into making the new building possible and it was made possible when school district patrons supported a $23 million dollar bond issue in a special election in March 2021. Staff is still moving into classrooms but are expected to be ready for students next week. A formal open house is planned in October during Homecoming for the Boone School District.

Superintendent Julie Trepa and Ledges Elementary Principal Autumn Seiler handle the ribbon cutting for the new elementary building.
