BOONE, Iowa—Mary Linda Crocheck-Kathman, 72, of Boone, Iowa passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2023. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Boone First Assembly of God Church, 1201 Noble Hills Place. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Mary Linda was born February 15, 1951, in Des Moines to Robert and Mary Crocheck. They later moved to Boone. She went on to work for 15 years as a printer at Heinrichs Envelope in Boone. Then she worked as a security guard for the USDA in Ames. Mary Linda retired in 2005.
She was preceded in death by her husband Delbert Kathman; her parents Robert and Mary Crocheck; brothers Joseph, Robert and David; and sister Patricia Gatewood. She is survived by daughters Deana, Shannie and KC; sons-in-law David and Michael; sons DJ and Mike; and daughter-in-law Laura. Mary Linda is also survived by her brothers Larry and Raymond Crocheck and her sister Kate Tyree.
Her surviving grandchildren are Jessie, Eric, Alex, Mykell, Jacob, Faith, Davey, Lane, Garrett, Morgan, Jolynn, Jaidin and foster granddaughter Amanda Walton (Pookie). Mary Linda is also survived by five great-grandchildren: Sophia, Greyson, Rowan, Zariah and Zahkious.
Mary Linda’s hobbies included baking, horseback riding, slow pitch softball and gambling. Most of her joy came from attending her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and extracurricular activities. She was blessed to be married to her one true love Delbert and they are now reunited. She was a great friend to many (especially Collette) and will be loved and missed by all her knew her.
