Saturday night at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines, the route for the fiftieth anniversary of the Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa was announced and it appears RAGBRAI with go right through Boone County.  It all begins in Sioux City on Sunday, July 23, with overnight stops in Storm Lake, Carroll, Ames, Des Moines, Tama-Toledo, Coralville, and ends in Davenport on Saturday, July 29.  RAGBRAI organizers are hoping to break the Guinness World Record of 48,615 riders on a single day during Wednesday’s 50-mile leg from Ames to Des Moines.  The full RAGBRAI L route, including pass-through cities, will be announced on March 13.
