DMACC Announces 2022 Commencement Ceremony Speakers

  • May 4 at 7 p.m. is the Commencement Ceremony for the Ankeny, Newton, Urban and West Campuses at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines
  • May 6 at 10 a.m. is the Commencement Ceremony for the Boone Campus in the Boone Campus Gymnasium
  • May 9 at 6:30 p.m. is the Commencement Ceremony for the Carroll Campus in the Carroll Senior High School Gymnasium

            The 2022 DMACC Metro Commencement Ceremony for the Ankeny, Newton, Urban and West Campuses of DMACC will take place at 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 4, at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.

            DMACC Newton Campus Liberal Arts student Karina Ortiz, originally from New Jersey and now living in Grinnell, will welcome family and friends to the graduation ceremony. Dr. Yogesh Shah, Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs for Broadlawns Medical Center, will deliver the commencement address.

More than 2,700 students will graduate from the DMACC Ankeny, Newton, Urban and West Campuses, celebrating commencement on Wednesday, May 4.

Additionally, the Metro Commencement Ceremony will be livestreamed online at graduation2022.dmacc.edu, and on the DMACC Facebook page at facebook.com/dmaccbears.

            Boone Campus Commencement

The 94th DMACC Boone Campus Commencement will take place at 10 a.m., on Friday, May 6, in the Boone Campus Gymnasium. DMACC Boone Campus Liberal Arts student Alexis Lander of Onawa will welcome family and friends to the graduation ceremony. DMACC Vice President of Enrollment Services and Student Success, Shelli Allen, will deliver the commencement address.

Nearly 200 Boone Campus students will graduate this Spring.

Carroll Campus Commencement            The DMACC Carroll Campus Commencement will take place at 6:30 p.m., Mon., May 9, at the Carroll Senior High School. Carroll Campus Activities Board (CCAB) President Amy Campbell of Lake City will give a welcome address. Phi Theta Kappa Beta Theta Xi Chapter member Brianna Wuebker of Carroll will give the student address. The Reverend John Pea, a former DMACC Carroll Campus English and Speech Professor, will deliver the commencement address.

 A total of 68 DMACC Carroll students will attend the ceremony on the Carroll Campus this Spring.
