Ames Police Investigate Armed Robbery

AMES, Iowa—Ames Police Department is continuing it’s investigation into a reported armed robbery that occurred early Monday morning at the Kum and Go located at 4506 Lincoln Way. According to the press release from the Ames Police Department, the suspect was described to officers by the clerk as a black male, wearing a black puffy winter coat. The male was also wearing a rubber glove on one hand and bags over his shoes. The male pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded money from the registers. The clerk gave the suspect cash from the register and the male left the store with another male who was waiting outside. Both individuals got into a sedan style vehicle that was operated by a third person and fled the area southbound.

Boone County Communication Center passed information along to local law enforcement with in about five minutes of the incident.
