Arrest Follows Confrontation Following City’s Utility Committee Meeting

BOONE, Iowa—Several women were involved in a confrontation following the Monday evening Public Meeting of the Boone City Council’s Utility Committee. According to the report posted by the Boone Police Department, 54 year old Amy Rasmussen was taken into custody in front of City Hall for Assault and Disorderly Conduct. She was taken by police to the Boone County Jail. April Burch, Holly Stecker and Laura Hutchcroft had been talking on the sidewalk in front of the City Hall when Rasmussen confront Burch about a personal matter. Stecker and Hutchcroft were also struck and shoved during the altercation. The confrontation occurred minutes after the Utility Committee had completed their meeting.

Stecker is a current City Councilmember and along with Hutchcroft and Rasmussen are all serving on the City’s Arts Commission.  Burch is currently serving on the Boone Park Commission.
