Drought Conditions Improve

Posted on 28 October 2021 by KWBG

DES MOINES, Iowa—Drought conditions saw significant improvement in Iowa as a result of last weekends rainfall. The portion of the state not reporting any drought or abnormally dry conditions improved by about 15%. About 10% is still considered in severe drought and that area does include some of eastern Boone County. Moderate drought conditions and abnormally dry conditions were also reduced. The data from the U.S. Drought Monitor is released on Tuesday and is reported in general terms. Site specific conditions will vary.
