Boone County Conservation Seeks Info on Vandalism

Posted on 30 July 2020 by KWBG

MADRID, Iowa—Boone County Conservation is asking for the public’s assistance in finding the person or persons responsible for vandalizing the High Trestle Trail.  According to a post on the Boone County Conservation Facebook page, they believe the vandalism occurred in the late night hours Tuesday night and early the hours of Wednesday morning. The pictures shown are of the Big Creek Bridge located near Violet Avenue. This is just a small portion of the vandalism that had been done. There is paint spread from U Avenue to the Big Creek Bridge which is roughly 3/4 of a mile.

According to the post, it’s believed that due to the mess that was made, it is likely that those responsible have red stained skin, shoes and clothing.  Anyone with information is asked to please call the Boone County Park Ranger, Blayne Sunstrom at 515-230-9093 or email bsunstrom@boonecounty.iowa.gov.
