Posted on 27 April 2018 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—Boone School Superintendent Dr. Brad Manard issued a message to staff at the Franklin Elementary School in Boone Friday, announcing the selection of a new principal.  His message said that Brad Winter had been offered and he had accepted the position as the new Franklin Principal beginning in July 2018.

Manard’s message thanked the Franklin teachers, associates and parents that served on the principal interview committees.  He noted that Winter has been a 1st/2nd grade combination teacher, 3rd grade teacher and elementary technology teacher.  He has been principal at Hillcrest Elementary School, Gillette, Wyoming for 12-years, the first two as co-principal.  Manard noted that the demographic is similar to Boone.  He also noted that Hillcrest Elementary hosts the district’s high needs special education program for students with significant cognitive disabilities.

Winter and his wife Jenni have two children, a daughter that will be a junior and a son in 8th grade.
