Posted on 21 May 2020 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—The current coronavirus pandemic has not held up construction on the DMACC Boone Campus Student Activity Center.  In fact, mild weather conditions this spring has allowed construction to move ahead quickly.

Here’s a drone shot of the Boone Campus Student Activity Center project before the structural steel and precast wall panel erection has begun.

The $6.5 million project includes two college-size basketball / volleyball courts. These courts also contain 3 40’ X 70’ baseball / softball batting cages that drop down from the fieldhouse ceiling.  The new student activity center also contains a state-of-the-art weight room designed by Powerlift, a contemporary sports medicine lab, an indoor golf performance center, storage space, office settings, and a family room.

A large crane is used to place the precast wall panels into place.

Precast wall panels are being attached to the existing facility, which adds an additional 28,500 square feet to the existing gym.
