Bishop Appoints New Chair of Catholic Schools Foundation

LE MARS, Iowa—Most Reverent R. Walker Nickless, Bishop of Sioux City, recently appointed Chuck Kellen as the chairperson of the Catholic School Foundation (CSF) Board of Directors.

“I am very pleased Chuck is taking the lead role on the CSF. He cares deeply for our schools & is dedicated to helping them achieve success in all areas. He’s been a CSF board member for over 4 years & with his talents, will make an excellent chairperson,” says Bishop Nickless.

Chuck responded, “I am honored to be asked by the Bishop to serve as CSF’s Chair. The CSF has played a valuable role in assisting Catholic Schools throughout the Diocese, not only in their financial needs, but also in promoting the value of Christian education. The Foundation has also been a conduit for Catholic Schools in promoting many legislative measures to assist in supporting our private schools throughout the state.”

Chuck has served in many leadership roles in All Saints Parish & the school over the years including President of the Board of Education, Friends of Gehlen Catholic Ball Chair, & Chair of the Gehlen Catholic School Endowment Fund. Chuck is a 4 generation family of Catholic education. He and his wife, Kay graduated from Gehlen Catholic as well as their 4 children.

The Catholic School Foundation (CSF) was established in 1986 & provides financial & instructional support to the 16 Catholic school systems throughout the Diocese of Sioux City. With more than 6,000 students & nearly 1,000 teachers, administrators, & staff the CSF works diligently to ensure all schools are meeting academic standards & are fully preparing our students to become responsible future community leaders.
