BOONE, Iowa---KWBG Morning Show Host Ben Parsons sustained serious injuries Monday night in a single vehicle accident, northwest of Boone. Sheriff Ron Fehr says the investigating deputy reported that Parsons went onto the shoulder causing him to lose control and roll into the ditch. The accident occurred near the Boone Water Treatment Plant. Parsons was taken to the Boone County Hospital and was later transferred to Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.
BOONE, Iowa---The Boone School Board has ratified the contracts with the district bargaining units, the Boone Education Association for teachers and the United Electrical Workers for support staff. Both agreements call for an across the board increase of 3%. The agreements also try to stem the districts efforts to reduce staff to balance the budget. Several staff members have been recalled after being told their contracts were being terminated.
We encourage you to contact our Congressional delegation and ask them to help modify new rules so that Boone County Transportation and a variety of valued local programs are not adversely impacted.
