On Tuesday, March 5th, The Boone Lions Club presented awards to the winners of the annual peace poster contest. Mariah Bolton from Sacred Heart School and Mabel Overton from Trinity Lutheran School were recipients of this award. Mabel Overton’s poster was also chosen as the winner in the Lions district poster contest.

The Boone City Council announced at the council meeting on Monday (3/4) evening that Realtor.com named Boone the #1 most affordable small town. The Boone City crew is working on a water main break at the corner of 9th and Keeler Streets this afternoon (Tuesday, March 5th). Streets are blocked surrounding the break so just be aware if you have to drive in the area.

BOONE, Iowa—Boone HyVee and the Ericson Pubic Library celebrated the birthday of Dr. Seuss Saturday with a breakfast brunch, complete with green eggs and ham. Half of the proceeds, $568.97, went to the Friends of the Library to support After School programming.
