Tuesday, March 26th, the Hope Foundation held their Peer Helpers Benefit Basketball Game and Bake Sale/Auction.  It was a great success with $1,747.50 raised for the Boone Hope Foundation which assists Boone families.  Pictured is a cake creation by Lauri Bouk for the bake sale.  (Photo courtesy Hope Foundation)

Trains still re-routing through Boone County

While flood waters to the west are receding, less than typical rail traffic from Amtrak and the Burlington Northern continues to pass through the county. These Amtrak cars came through Boone on Monday afternoon.

Exciting times for basketball in Iowa. In the NCAA tournaments, there are three Iowa women’s teams (ISU, U of I, Drake) and there are two Iowa men’s teams (ISU, U of I). KWBG will be broadcasting the ISU games on air.

The Boone Fire Department responded to reports of a fire at 709 Keeler in downtown Boone shortly after 6am Sunday.
