The Daybreakers Kiwanis Club served 650 meals on Monday evening. Funds raised go to scholarships and other community projects.

While flood waters to the west are receding, less than typical rail traffic from Amtrak and the Burlington Northern continues to pass through the county. These Amtrak cars came through Boone on Monday afternoon.

Starting on Monday, March 25th, there will be some changes to traffic flow around Page School. This is being done to make drop-off and pick-up safer and more efficient

Exciting times for basketball in Iowa. In the NCAA tournaments, there are three Iowa women’s teams (ISU, U of I, Drake) and there are two Iowa men’s teams (ISU, U of I). KWBG will be broadcasting the ISU games on air.  

The Boone Fire Department responded to reports of a fire at 709 Keeler in downtown Boone shortly after 6am Sunday. With the rapid snow melt and anticipated rainfall through Thursday, rivers are expected to swell.  Any body of water that contains a coating of ice has the potential for ice jams.  

Due to warmer temperatures and rain forecast for the next several days, Boone Public Works has issued a ban on garbage trucks in the alleys until further notice.
