The Boone dog park, Canine Corral, is getting new water dispensers for dogs and their people.  Paul Molitor Construction will be working on these Thursday and Friday and will be pouring cement Friday morning.  The project should be done by Monday.  Thank you for your patience and help!

The Iowa High School Musical Theater Award was presented to the Madrid Jr/Sr High School for Distinguished Scene in “Peter Pan:  A New Musical”.  Congratulations to all!  

Monday evening, June 3rd, the Ericson Public Library held their Summer Reading Kick-Off Carnival.  The rain held off and there was an awesome turnout.  

The Household Hazardous Waste Event sponsored by the Boone County Landfill was held Saturday, June 1st, with 87 vehicles crossing the scales and 80 vehicles served at DMACC.  The Boone firefighters donated their time and assistance to help make this a success!  (Photos courtesy Boone County Landfill)      

The Boone Municipal Band, under the direction of Chris Truckenmiller, will begin their regular summer season of Wednesday evening concerts at the Herman Park Pavilion, this Wednesday, May 29th at 7:30 p.m.  The Boone Municipal Band will continue to perform on Wednesday evenings until mid-July.

Thursday evening, the Ogden football team helped with preparation for the Memorial Day Service at the Ogden Cemetery.      

A check in the amount of $1,500 was recently donated from the Verizon store in Boone to the Boone Area Humane Society.        

The Boone County Sheriff’s Office is seeking assistance from the public relating to a debit card fraud case.  The plate displayed on the 2019 white Dodge Ram Bighorn truck appears to be concealing the original license plate.  If you have any information call the Sheriff’s Office at 515-433-0527.
