Tuesday evening, November 19th, the teachers from Lincoln/Page/Franklin Schools held a fundraiser at McDonald’s in Boone where 15% of all sales were donated to the schools.  A check for nearly $700.00 was presented to the schools.  

Boone firefighters and local law enforcement responded to a fire in a lot that housed salvaged HIRTA buses on Wednesday evening.  The buses were destroyed and power was out to some customers in Boone for a time.  The cause of the fire is still under investigation.  

At Monday evening’s school board meeting, school nurse, Beth Solomon received the ‘DORS award.  Mrs. Solomon is the school nurse at Franklin.  Congratulations!

The Boone Fire Department and Professional Fire Fighters Local 678 have started their annual Smoke Detector Battery Drive in Boone.  This event will run through Friday, November 15th.  Appointments can be scheduled by calling the firehouse at 432-3446.
