The Ogden baseball team faced a tough challenge Thursday, June 5, as it hosted undefeated Pleasantville in a West Central Conference doubleheader at Ogden.
Ogden fell in both games, losing, 13-2, in the opener and 5-2 in the nightcap.
Game 1: Pleasantville 13, Ogden 2
Pleasantville’s offense came out swinging in the first game, putting up 13 runs.
Tanner Rohe collected two hits, including a double, driving in a run, and stealing a base.
Christian Thede added an RBI as well.
On the mound, Thomas Bergstrom took the loss, recording one strikeout.
Relievers Aidyn Fitzsimmons and Hunter Stockman each added a strikeout in their appearances.
Game 2: Pleasantville 5, Ogden 2
The second game was a tighter contest.
Keagan Ristvedt, CeJay Jones, Christian Thede, and Hunter Mitchels each notched a hit. Thede and Mitchels also drove in a run apiece.
Colson Carson pitched in relief and took the loss but had six strikeouts.
With the sweep, Pleasantville improves to 8-0 on the season, while Ogden drops to 3-8.
Ogden will look to bounce back tonight as it hosts South Hardin (3-5) at 7 p.m. at home.
