Despite a late push, the Ogden Bulldogs couldn’t overcome an early deficit in a 4-2 non-conference loss to Coon Rapids-Bayard on Wednesday, June 4, in Ogden.
The Crusaders, now 6-0 on the season, struck early with three runs in the top of the second inning and added another in the fourth to build a 4-0 lead.
Ogden responded with one run in the sixth and another in the seventh, but the rally came up short.
Keagan Ristvedt led the Bulldogs at the plate with two hits.
Brody Burdette added a hit and drove in one of Ogden’s two runs, while Tanner Rohe chipped in with a hit of his own.
On the mound, CeJay Jones recorded six strikeouts in the loss, and Logan Ryan added four more in relief, keeping the game within reach.
Ogden drops to 3-6 on the season and will look to bounce back tonight as they host undefeated Pleasantville (6-0) in a West Central Conference doubleheader starting at 5:30 p.m.
