AMES, Iowa – Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will host an evening crop walk from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, June 17 near Thor.
“This crop walk will cover the basics of mid-season scouting,” said Angie Rieck-Hinz, extension field agronomist. “We will discuss current conditions, scout for insects and crop diseases and talk about management practices. We will also review weed control effectiveness.”
Participants are encouraged to bring their own crop samples for evaluation.
The farm is located at 3022 100th St., Thor. Supper will be provided. Attendees are asked to register for the program so adequate food can be provided and to bring their own lawn chairs.
