BOONE, Iowa—The heavy rain and strong winds a week ago had many cleaning up debris from tree branches and limbs. In fact, the Boone County Landfill is accepting yard waste this week on Tuesday and Wednesday for those needing to dispose of the debris. Regular yard waste disposal is Thursday, Friday and will end for the spring on Saturday.

The storm last Monday did cause damage at the Ledges State Park and the heavy rain in Boone resulted in flooding, closing the Canyon Drive for a few days. Clean up and reduced water flow did allow the Canyon Drive to be reopened right before the Memorial Day weekend.
