The Boone girls’ soccer team wrapped up its regular season Tuesday, May 20, with a 3-1 road loss to Des Moines East.
Both teams found the net once in the first half, but East pulled away in the second with two unanswered goals to secure the win.
Kaylee Chesnut scored Boone’s lone goal, with the assist coming from her sister, Macy Chesnut, who set up the score.
Ava Johnson recorded 11 saves to keep Boone within striking distance throughout the match.
With the loss, Boone drops to 5-11-2, while Des Moines East improves to 6-11-1.
Boone now turns its focus to the postseason, where it will host Grinnell (4-7-3) in the opening round of regional play on Friday, May 23 at 7 p.m. at Goeppinger Field.
