OGDEN, Iowa—Billy (Bill) Raymond Crook, age 75 of Ogden, passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines.
Bill was born on October 6, 1946 in Boone, the son of Aaron and Faye (Smelcer) Crook. He graduated from Tech High School in Des Moines in 1965.
Bill was in the U.S. Navy from October of 1966 until October of 1968. He was a self-employed truck driver for many years until his retirement.
Bill enjoyed deer hunting and trapping in his earlier years. He loved fishing and watching TV and movies. He was quite the movie buff his entire life, especially drawn to westerns. Bill was a member of the V.F.W.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and all 10 of his siblings. He is survived by his children, Stephene Crook and Jonathan Crook, both of Boone; along with several dear friends.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery. A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held from 1:00 until 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at the V.F.W. in Boone.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the V.F.W.
