In a Raccoon River Conference matchup Thursday, June 12, the Boone baseball team edged out Bondurant-Farrar, 4-2, at Memorial Park, improving to 10-5 on the season and 3-4 in conference play.
Bondurant-Farrar struck first with a run in the top of the first inning, but Boone responded and tied the game in the third.
The Toreadors then surged ahead with two runs in the fourth and one run in the fifth.
Bondurant-Farrar added a run in the sixth to close the gap, but Boone’s defense held firm to secure the win.
Noah Davies hit a solo home run and finished with one hit, one RBI, and one run scored.
Tyce Carlson had two hits and a run scored.
Cole Bowers and Landon Youngblood each contributed an RBI single.
Youngblood also tossed a complete game, allowing just two runs and striking out one.
Tate Carlson and Tyler Lindahl each added a hit to round out Boone’s balanced offensive effort.
The Bluejays dropped to 9-6 overall and 3-4 in conference play.
Boone now turns its attention to a conference doubleheader on the road against Gilbert (8-6, 4-1) tonight, with first pitch scheduled for 5 p.m.
