The Boone softball team put up a fight Thursday, June 12, at Gary Creasman Field but ultimately fell to No. 11 Bondurant-Farrar, 6-4, in a Raccoon River Conference showdown.
Halle Bailey led the charge at the plate, collecting two hits and driving in two runs to keep Boone within striking distance.
Avery Howie added a hit, scored a run, and notched an RBI, while Brooke Weisbrod contributed a hit and crossed the plate once.
Gracie Vodenik also chipped in with a base hit.
Weisbrod went the distance in the circle, pitching a complete game and striking out six batters in the loss.
Bondurant-Farrar improved to 9-3 overall and 2-2 in conference play, while Boone moved to 9-6 on the season and 2-5 in the Raccoon River standings.
The Toreadors won’t have much time to dwell on the result, as they head to Cedar Rapids tomorrow for a tournament.
There, they’ll face top-ranked Cedar Rapids Xavier and Marion.
