DES MOINES, Iowa—Five talented Iowa high school students each received a prestigious Iowa Scholarship for the Arts from the Iowa Arts Council, a division of the Iowa Economic Development Authority.
The Iowa Scholarship for the Arts program supports Iowa high school students with proven artistic ability and who plan to pursue a major in the arts at an accredited Iowa college or university. Each scholarship winner will receive $4,000 for his or her college tuition and related expenses as a full-time undergraduate student in 2025-2026.
The Iowa Scholarship for the Arts was established in 1986 when world-renowned opera singer and native Iowan Simon Estes held a benefit concert in conjunction with the state’s ‘Homecoming 1986’ celebration. The proceeds from that concert provided seed funding for the Iowa Scholarship for the Arts.
