The Boone softball team won both games Saturday, June 7, at the Oskaloosa Softball Classic to improve to 8-2 on the season.
In Game 1, Boone rallied past Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, 6-4.
After falling behind early, the Toreadors scored two runs in the third and four in the sixth to secure the win.
Carly Busch led the offense with two hits, a run scored and an RBI.
Kaylee Kuehl and Claire Hardinger each added two hits, while Brooke Weisbrod and Sydney Adams each drove in a run.
Weisbrod also pitched a complete game with eight strikeouts to earn the win.
Boone carried that momentum into Game 2, defeating host Oskaloosa 10-2.
The Toreadors scored in five straight innings, including three-run bursts in the third, fourth, and sixth.
Weisbrod and Hardinger each collected three hits and scored one run.
Busch added two hits and crossed the plate twice, while Adams chipped in with two hits, an RBI and a run.
Mora Nystrom contributed a double, an RBI, and a run scored.
Kuehl added another RBI and a run to her day’s tally.
Busch took the mound in Game 2 and delivered six strong innings with five strikeouts to seal the win.
Boone will host Class 4A No. 7 Carlisle (9-4) tonight in a Raccoon River Conference doubleheader at Gary Creasman Field, with first pitch set for 5:30 p.m.
