Ogden softball loses 2 to Pleasantville

The Ogden softball team came up short in both games of a West Central Conference doubleheader against Pleasantville Thursday, June 5, at Ogden. 

The visiting Trojans took Game 1 by a score of 11-8 and followed it up with an 11-3 win in Game 2. 

Game 1: Pleasantville 11, Ogden 8 

In the opener, Ogden was led by Aubrey Leonard, who tallied three hits, including a double, drove in three runs, scored once, and stole a base.  

Camryn Askelsen and Lauren Matthews also had strong games at the plate, each collecting three hits. 

Harleigh Janssen added two RBIs to help keep the Bulldogs in the game.  

Katie Wilcoxson took the loss in the circle, recording three strikeouts. 

Game 2: Pleasantville 11, Ogden 3 

In the nightcap, Matthews continued her strong night with two hits, a run scored, and two RBIs.  

Leonard, Adi Banks, and Breaunna Wenger each added a hit, with Leonard driving in one more run. 

Clara Kruse took the loss in the circle. 

With the sweep, Pleasantville improves to 4-2, while Ogden moves to 6-4 on the season. 

The Bulldogs will look to bounce back on Monday, June 9, when they host Madrid (1-7) at 7 p.m. in another conference matchup.
