The Ogden softball team exploded for 11 runs in the bottom of the first inning en route to a 17-1 win over Coon Rapids-Bayard in just four innings, Wednesday, June 4, in Ogden.
After giving up a lone run in the top of the first, the Bulldogs added five more runs in the second inning and capped their scoring with one in the third, invoking the run rule to end the game early.
Breaunna Wenger led the charge with two hits, one run scored, and three RBIs.
Adi Banks went 2-for-2 with a double, three runs scored, and four RBIs.
On the mound, Katie Wilcoxson earned the win, striking out four batters and keeping the Coon Rapids-Bayard offense in check.
With the win, Ogden improves to 6-2 on the season, while Coon Rapids-Bayard falls to 0-4.
Ogden will look to carry this momentum into tonight’s doubleheader as they host Class 2A No. 15 Pleasantville (2-2) at 5:30 p.m.
