Madrid softball falls at home

Posted on 05 June 2025 by KWBG

The Madrid softball team fell, 10-1, to Grand View Christian in five innings in non-conference play Wednesday, June 4, in Madrid.

The Tigers received two hits in the game—one each from Ashlyn Burkhard and Mayzie Surratt.

Hailey Renslow drove in Madrid’s lone run, but the offense couldn’t keep pace with the Thunder, who improved to 6-1 on the season.

Surratt pitched a complete game for Madrid, recording two strikeouts in the loss.

With the defeat, Madrid drops to 1-5 on the season and will face a test tonight as it hosts Class 2A No. 1 Van Meter (7-1) in a West Central Conference doubleheader starting at 7 p.m.
