DES MOINES, Iowa—The National Weather Service Office in Des Moines has updated information about the potential for severe weather. Strong to severe thunderstorms capable of producing strong winds, locally heavy rainfall, and secondarily hail are possible. The strongest storms would be this afternoon into early evening, and mainly over southeast Iowa.
Note, widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected much of the day.
