BOONE, Iowa—An 89 year old Boone man died from injuries sustained in a two vehicle accident at the intersection of U.S. Highway 30 and Montana Road on the southwest side of Boone. The preliminary report from the Iowa State Patrol reported the Boone County Communications Center was called at 8:24 with a report of the collision. The preliminary report shows that 17 year old Aubrey Alexander of Templeton was traveling east on Highway 30 when her vehicle, a 2006 Ford Mustang, collided with a 2003 Ford Ranger driven by 89 year old Dale Crouse of Boone. Crouse was transported from the scene but was later pronounced deceased at the Boone County Hospital. Alexander was checked by medical personnel at the scene and was released. According to the preliminary report from the State Patrol, Crouse failed to yield the right of way at the intersection and Alexander was unable to avoid the collision.
The Iowa State Patrol, Boone County Sheriff’s Deputies, Boone Police Officers, Boone Fire and Rescue and Boone County Hospital Ambulance responded to the call. The accident remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
