Boone girls’ soccer season ends

The Boone girls’ soccer team saw its season come to a close Wednesday, May 28, in the Class 2A Region 3 semifinal, falling to North Polk, 10-0, in Alleman. 

North Polk, now 13-2-2 on the season, came out firing with seven goals in the first half and added three more after the break to secure the win and advance in postseason play. 

Boone finishes the year with a 6-12-2 record. 

The Toreadors had several standout performers this season.  

Senior Macy Chesnut led the team with 15 goals and added 5 assists, capping off her career.  

Sophomore Emma Thomas followed closely with 12 goals and a team-high 7 assists, while Junior Delaney Good contributed 8 goals and 5 assists of her own. 

Sophomore goalkeeper Ava Johnson recorded 174 saves, and sophomore Bry Morgan added 34 saves.
