The Ogden softball team opened its season in dominant fashion, defeating West Central Valley 10-3 on the road Tuesday, May 27, at Stuart.
Ogden’s offense was consistent, scoring two runs in each of the first, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth innings.
Breaunna Wenger led the charge at the plate, going 4-for-4 with a double, two RBIs, two runs scored,and a stolen base.
Adi Banks and Harleigh Janssen each added three hits, with Banks driving in two runs to help power the Bulldogs’ offense.
Katie Wilcoxson pitched a complete game for Ogden, striking out three and keeping the Wildcats in check after a two-run first inning.
With the win, the Bulldogs start the season 1-0.
They’ll look to keep the momentum going Thursday, May 29, when they travel to Truro for a doubleheader against Interstate 35.
First pitches are scheduled for 5:30 and 7 p.m.
