The Boone baseball team continued its hot start to the season with a 2-0 road win over Perry Tuesday, May 27, improving to 4-0 behind Walker Smith.
Smith tossed a complete-game shutout with four strikeouts and kept Perry’s bats quiet.
He also contributed at the plate, driving in one of Boone’s two runs.
The Toreadors struck quickly, scoring one run in the first inning and another in the second.
Dylan England, Cole Bowers, Tyce Carlson, and Landon Youngblood each added a hit, while Noah Davies chipped in with an RBI to help secure the win.
With the victory, Boone remains unbeaten and will have a tough test tonight as it travels to Slater to take on Ballard (5-0) in a Raccoon River Conference matchup.
First pitch is set for 7 p.m.
