Boone boys’ soccer falls to Pella in overtime

The Boone boys’ soccer team battled in its final match of the season but fell just short in a 2-1 overtime loss to Pella Tuesday, May 27, at Goeppinger Field. 

Boone and Pella each found the net once in the first half, setting the tone for a tight match. 

Dylan Bolton delivered Boone’s lone goal, adding to his season tally of eight, while goalkeeper Ben Seligman recorded seven saves. 

Neither team could break the deadlock in the second half, sending the match into sudden death overtime.  

In the overtime period, Pella scored a goal to seal the win and end Boone’s season. 

Boone finishes the year with a winning 8-6-2 record. 

Senior Davide Ioppolo led the Toreadors with an impressive 15 goals, followed closely by senior Blake Gradoville with 13.  

Senior Holden Davis orchestrated the attack with a team-high 9 assists, while senior Isaac Dodd added 4 of his own.  

Senior goalkeeper Seligman recorded 114 saves.
