The Boone baseball team continued its hot start to the season with a 10–8 victory over Clear Lake on Friday, May 23, at Memorial Park in Boone.
The Toreadors scored in each of the first four innings and held off a late rally by the Lions to improve to 3–0 on the season.
Boone wasted no time getting on the board, scoring three runs in the first inning and adding another in the second.
The Toreador offense kept rolling with two more in the third and a four-run outburst in the fourth that gave them the lead.
Tate Carlson led the offensive charge, going 6-for-8 at the plate with four runs scored and two RBIs.
Noah Davies added four hits of his own, drove in two runs, and stole four bases.
Lucas Moore, Dylan England, and Cole Bowers each contributed two RBIs.
The Lions, now 2–1, scored runs in the second and third innings, then added two more in the fifth and seventh to make things interesting.
But Boone’s early offensive output proved too much to overcome.
The Toreadors will look to stay perfect as they hit the road tonight to face Perry (0–2) at 7:30 p.m.
