The Madrid girls’ golf team competed in regional play Friday, May 16, at Jewell Golf and Country Club finishing with a team score of 506.  

Leading the way for Madrid was Ashlyn Burkhart, who shot a 106, placing her among the top 20 individual finishers.  

She was followed by Megan Carlson who shot a 127, Morgan Christensen who shot a 136 and Emma Hudnall who shot a 137. 

The meet’s medalist was Hanna Merron of Algona Bishop Garrigan, who shot an 86.  

Garrigan also took home the team title with a score of 391.
