Boone Municipal Band concerts begin May 28

The Boone Municipal Band will resume its summer concerts at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, at Herman Park Pavilion in Boone. 

The band is excited to continue its partnership with the Ericson Public Library this summer, and the library’s “Book Bike” will make appearances at band concerts. 

The Boone Big Band will perform Wednesday, June 25, and a patriotic concert will be held on Friday, July 4, followed by the City of Boone fireworks. 

The Boone band will host the annual Iowa Municipal Band Festival at the pavilion from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 12.  

Nine bands from across the Midwest will play a concert at the top of the hour, small groups will perform in between the bands, and Boone will play the final concert of the festival at 6 p.m. 

In addition, Boone Municipal Band concerts will be rebroadcast at 11 a.m. Sundays, June 1-July 20, on KWBG AM 1590, FM 101.5 and streaming on kwbglive.com
