Boone boys’ tennis beats Nevada

The Boone boys’ tennis team beat Nevada ,10-1, Monday, May 5, at McHose Park in Boone. 

Five individuals won their singles matches in straight sets. 

No. 1 Devin Silbaugh won, 6-1, 6-3, No. 2 Tyler Lindahl won 6-2, 6-1 and No. 3. Wes Van Pelt won 7-6 (7-2), 6-1. 

No. 5 Calvin Jordan and No. 6 Patrick Houser both won, 6-3, 6-3. 

In doubles, No. 1 Silbaugh and Lindahl won in third set tiebreaker, 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (10-1). 

The remaining doubles won in straight sets. 

No. 2 Braxtan Sproule and Houser won, 6-4, 6-3, and No. 3 Van Pelt and Jordan won, 6-4, 6-1. 

No. 4 Brandon Holm and Strummer Grout won, 6-1, 6-0, and No. 5 Kyan Lehman and Sam Chesnut won, 6-1, 6-1.

The Toreadors improved to 8-2 on the season. 

The boys host North Polk at McHose Park this afternoon.
