In a battle of rated conference teams, the No. 6 Boone boys’ tennis team lost at No. 5 Ballard, 6-5, Tuesday, April 29.
The meet was tied after singles with Boone winning 3 matches and Ballard also winning 3 matches.
No. 2 Tyler Lindahl won, 6-4, 6-3, No. 4 Wes Van Pelt won, 6-3, 7-5, and No. 6 Patrick Houser won, 6-1, 7-5.
Boone won 2 doubles matches, but it was not enough to win the meet.
No. 1 Devin Silbaugh and Lindahl won in 3rd set tiebreaker, 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (10-8) and No. 5 Brandon Holm and Strummer Grout won in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.

The Toreadors fell to 7-2 and the Bombers improved to 6-2.
The boys are scheduled to host North Polk (7-7) this afternoon at 4:15 at McHose Park.
