Boone County Escapee Captured

BOONE, Iowa—The Boone County Sheriff’s Department was seeking a 20 year old prisoner that escaped custody about 12:30 this afternoon. The department had posted a photo and announcement on social media. Ethan Seals was taken into custody this afternoon about a quarter to four and was returned to the Boone County Jail.(contributed information, BCSO)

The Boone boys’ soccer team beat Grinnell, 4-2, and Panorama, 5-1, as it hosted a tournament Saturday, April 26, at Goeppinger Field.

Boone boys’ tennis beats DC-G, falls to Pella

The Class 1A, No. 5, Boone boys’ tennis team traveled to Pella Friday for a triangular and split with a 10-1 win over Dallas Center Grimes and a 6-5 loss to No. 8 Pella.

Nate Osmundson, Boone Rec Director talks about Nights on the Green. The first one of the year will be Friday, May 2nd. He talks about what’s coming up for the rest of the season. The July Night on the Green will be the second Friday because of the July 4th Holiday. Nights on the Green end in September. Osmundson did say that Kris Blocker of Visit Boone County has a new activity that will be announced soon. Osmundson also talked about the work he’s doing for activities and events and how that’s developing. Aired Monday, April 28, 2025.
