BOONE, Iowa—Boone Fire Department responded to a house fire this morning and have made available information on the fire and associated photos.

At approximately 8:15am today the Boone Fire Department was dispatched to 312 10th St. in Boone for a building fire. Chief 8-60 and Engine 8-65 responded, arriving 3 minutes after the dispatch finding heavy fire on the back side of the house and all occupants having safely escaped before our arrival. Our 3 on-duty firefighters deployed an attack line and extinguished the exterior fire before quickly moving to the interior to check for fire in the residence. The all-call resulted in Truck 8-66, Engine 8-62 and Command 8-64 responding with 5 additional firefighters who assisted with checking for extension and extinguishing fires in the walls and attic space. Early investigation indicates that the fire was likely started by unattended burning materials from the night prior. No injuries were reported.

The Boone Fire Department was assisted by the Boone County Communications Center, Boone Police Department, Boone Public Works, Boone County Ambulance and Alliant Energy. Students from our EDGE internship program with the Boone High School were also on scene at the incident and assisted with fireground rehab for our firefighters, also giving them a close up view of our firefighters working at an incident.
