DES MOINES, Iowa—The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma has issued a Tornado Watch until 8:00 p.m. This watch does include Boone County.
The Hazardous Weather Outlook notes that some stronger to severe storms are expected to develop with some large hail and a few tornadoes possible. A marginal risk of severe weather covers the region for the afternoon through evening hours. Locally heavy rainfall may also accompany some of the storms this afternoon as well.
