Gov. Reynolds issued a disaster proclamation Tuesday, May 31, 2022 for six counties in response to severe weather. The governor’s proclamation allows state resources to be utilized to respond and recover from the effects of this severe weather in Boone County (IMPACT’s service area), Des Moines County (does not include the city of Des Moines), Hamilton County, Ida County, Lyon County and Webster County. Households suffering losses of personal property or having structural damage to their personal residence may contact the local “community action” office located in their county.

The Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program (IIAGP) may provide up to $5,000 of assistance, reimbursement and/or vendor voucher, for covered items to households at or below 200% of the federal poverty level. Application must be made through your local community action office. You may be eligible for repair or replacement of items damaged by storms/flooding. Potential applicants have 45 days from the date of proclamation to submit a claim.

The Disaster Case Management Program (IDCM) addresses serious needs related to disaster-related hardship,
injury or adverse conditions. Disaster case managers work with clients to create a disaster recovery plan and
provide guidance, advice, and referral to obtain a service or resource. There are no income eligibility requirements
for this program; it closes 180 days from the date of the governor’s proclamation.
