Arch Dedication

KWBG 12/12/25

BOONE, Iowa—The Boone Downtown Arch has been rededicated during a brief event Friday afternoon. The original arch was dedicated 110 years ago. George Eckstein received the honor of cutting the ribbon. Earlier this year, Eckstein began the mission of garnering support and donations to make the restoration of the Downtown Arch a reality. The Arch was funded by donations raised from the public. The Boone City Council did contribute $30,000 for the Hotel Motel Tax which can be used to support tourism oriented projects.

R.H. Grabau Construction served as the General Contractor for the project. Others involved included Premier Fabrication & Powder Coating, FMC Masonry, Grey Horse Trucking, Enterprise Electric, US Crane, Darby Construction/Dakin-Ag Equipment, Iowa Plain Signs. Others involved included the Absolute Group, Best In Masonry, Elder Corporation, and Stecker Concrete assisting in prepping the footings/install/ and stone piers.
