Devin Silbaugh and Tyler Lindahl were doubles champions as the Boone boys’ tennis team won the North Polk Invitational Friday, May 9, in Alleman.
Boone scored 18 points, edging past Southeast Polk, which scored 17 points.
Host North Polk ended with 11.5 points, and Indianola scored 3.5 points.
Silbaugh and Lindahl won 3 matches to place 1st.
They beat 1 team from Indianola before beating 2 teams from Southeast Polk.
In singles, Wes Van Pelt won 2 matches to place 3rd.
He beat an opponent from North Polk, then lost to an opponent from Southeast Polk, before beating Calvin Jordan of Boone.
In doubles, Braxtan Sproule and Patrick Houser beat a team from North Polk before losing to 2 teams from Southeast Polk, which was good for 4th place.
In singles, Jordan beat an opponent from Indianola before losing to an opponent from North Polk and Wes Van Pelt of Boone, which secured 4th place.

The Toreadors will host a Class 1A District Individual Tournament at 8 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, at McHose Park.
Boone will compete for the opportunity to advance 2 doubles teams and 2 individuals to the Class 1A individual State Tennis Tournament May 27 and 28, at Waterloo.
Teams in Boone’s district include Audubon, Fort Dodge St. Edmond, North Polk, Newton, Harlan, Denison-Schleswig, Nevada and Boone.
